The Business: 
Our Retirement Systems Group creates and supports software for the Retirement, Health and Group Benefits and Group Services and Solutions businesses. Our purpose is to help the departments we work with realize their full potential.

The Role: 

The Retirement Systems Group is currently making significant changes to internal tools and process to support a more efficient and automated testing environment. This is necessary to increase speed to production, reduce errors in code, and to provide a model for future testing.

This role sits within the Development and Framework group and plays a key part in testing the Retirement Systems Groups North America applications. You will work closely with all product team developers to help develop and coordinate best practices for automated regression testing automation (calculations, UI, smoke, etc.) in conjunction with existing testing efforts. This position will have oversight over the automated testing project with regards to decision implementation and rollout to teams. You will be responsible for creating metrics and increasing test coverage across all teams using the automated systems.

As a Test Automation Engineer/Developer working with various systems designs, you will create a model of efficiency for automated testing and metrics for product team developers and managers. You will also consult with framework concerning best practices, provide ongoing technical support, and training on development product teams.

Note that this role may involve some travel to other Willis Towers Watson offices. Associate must be able to work an EST time zone schedule.

A Few Select Responsibilities:

  • Guide product teams during implementation of automated practices for both web and windows applications. E.g., assist with the design for creation of test scripts using JavaScript and/or VB.NET to address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error or bug retests, or usability in preparation for implementation.
  • Work with the product team managers, team/department/company colleagues, and framework to define metrics, process and strategy associated with automation.
  • Document issues for analysis programmatically
  • Plan test schedules based on each teams schedule and need
  • Assist teams create, execute and diagnose automated test scripts across multiple application within the department
  • Participate in product team design and review meetings to provide input on testing requirements, schedules, results/reports, or other areas of concern.
  • Identify improvements in the testing and user experience processes
  • Maintain a high-quality bar in a complex and constantly evolving workspace.

The Requirements

  • 4 year of prior experience setting up and leading automation testing
  • Strong Experience and understanding of automated testing tools available in the marketplace
  • Experience developing automated test for both web and windows applications
  • Ability to create scripts beyond record and playback using C# and/or VB.NET
  • Experience working with GUI object recognition and customization
  • Experience testing VB.NET, SQL, and Windows GUI
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, design and debugging skills
  • Excellent understanding of software design techniques
  • Experience of source control systems and configuration management
  • Basic level knowledge of XML and RDBMS concepts
  • Experience in Agile development methodologies preferable
  • Proven ability to deliver quality results in a demanding environment
  • Ability to travel and work extended hours as needed
